Continue readingToday, we played a lot of Pengoloo board game for kids, an award winning wooden skill building memory color recognition game we really enjoy and absolutely recommend. Pengoloo by Blue Orange enhances kids’ memory, color recognition, visualization and fine motor skills. The game also strengthens kids’ strategy and social skills.
Continue readingI had to explain to my daughter how brainstorming works. To do this, II chose to use three main brainstorming techniques instead of the classical free writing. These are: listing, concept mapping (or mind mapping) and sketching. These three techniques are all very effective when trying to teach little children how to brainstorm.
Continue readingThere are days, just like this one, when we don’t do countless activities, but they are beautiful and relaxing because they represent quality time together.
Continue readingWe started our day playing a school role game and learnt to draw various objects. Of course, I was the teacher and our girl was the student. We used chalk on a blackboard.Β Afterwards we played a Guess Who game, this time using our Lego Minifigures.

Although itβs a toy for ages 10 and up and the kids can learn how to program it through a series of tutorials on the Mi Robot Builder App, we thought it was a good idea to just use it as a building toy until our daughter gets older.
Continue readingWe started the day with a drawing, cutting and coloring activity. Our daughter asked me to draw a few cars inspired by our HotWheels car collection for her. She wanted to make a landscape with a road. We cut the drawn cars and our girl glued them on the road. The Hotwheels cars had to face the right direction.
Continue readingToday we got up early. After our morning routine, we printed, cut and played a new game we found online: Catch a bug!. Later – because our daughter got bored of all her board games – we thought about inventing a new, fun board game to play.
Continue readingBefore noon, we came up with an idea for a new game. Because both Daddy and I work in IT, we thought about making a no-screen coding game for kids. Inspired by Code-a-Pillar, we tried to create a simple, yet entertaining educational game. We built it using a lot of water bottle caps.
